Chops of pieces of memory barely recognizable. I carried a 200 count CD folder in my car at all times. Scratch them up and loop snippets and it's something like that. Hypnotic and a bit unnerving. Great work.
Favorite track: III.
We are enraptured by the whirring chaos as TKM drops by to lead us into a pond chock-full of digital frogs. They croak and ribbit and their tongues flick out to grab miniature brundleflys out of the glimmering air
A composition for and about Compact Discs by The Kendal Mintcake.
Source material: TKM CD collection c. summer 2014 (approx. 6000 pieces)
Source samples (100 total) derived as follows:
* Random Number Generator selects drawer from CD shelving units
* RNG selects row from within selected drawer
* RNG selects CD from within selected row
* RNG selects track from within selected CD
* RNG selects a minute from within selected track
* RNG determines length of sample
* TKM extracts sample
The samples were then placed into 10 chronological groups of 10 and processed individually with outboard gear and software.
The 10 resulting tracks segue and comprise the complete piece.
Many of the CDs you have purchased will rot and be rendered unlistenable during your lifetime. Don't worry about it. Have a sandwich and hang out with people you like. If you follow these suggestions, the Compact Disc will provide a lifetime of pure listening enjoyment.

very exciting to the excellent bandcloud mailout expanding to labelhood, and they've gotten together a truly great group of artists for this comp—absolutely packed with many different styles of fire !! unscented

Petridisch is a great moniker for this project as each track plays out like a sound experiment. Tracks are given enough room to breathe before moving to the next, but it flows well from track to track. Vocal manipulation carry this whole thing which carries a subtle menace throughout. wc_helmets
