A composition for and about Compact Discs by The Kendal Mintcake.

Source material: TKM CD collection c. summer 2014 (approx. 6000 pieces)

Source samples (100 total) derived as follows:
* Random Number Generator selects drawer from CD shelving units
* RNG selects row from within selected drawer
* RNG selects CD from within selected row
* RNG selects track from within selected CD
* RNG selects a minute from within selected track
* RNG determines length of sample
* TKM extracts sample

The samples were then placed into 10 chronological groups of 10 and processed individually with outboard gear and software.
The 10 resulting tracks segue and comprise the complete piece.

Many of the CDs you have purchased will rot and be rendered unlistenable during your lifetime. Don't worry about it. Have a sandwich and hang out with people you like. If you follow these suggestions, the Compact Disc will provide a lifetime of pure listening enjoyment.
